Career Woman is a Los Angeles band led by singer-songwriter Melody Caudill. Although Caudill still hasn’t crossed the threshold into her twenties, she’s been impressive prolific to this point, boasting a bandcamp page packed with gleaming pop-rock goodness. The band’s new song, “Passing,” taps into drifty dissatisfaction on youth (“Time and time again I try/ But I’m sick of just passing the time, sick of passing time”) with punchy, hooky music that recalls Allo Darlin, Sarge, and other bygone bards of early adulthood woes. The cut is grand.
Grapevine, the new EP from Career Woman, is scheduled for release in September.
