“Getting Bitter,” the new track from New Jersey–based band Teenage Halloween, is a chewy, chunky blast of pop punk. It call to mind the Beths when they’re in a louder mode, and that includes in the way the bouncy music gives a zippy delivery to some darker lyrics, in this case watching a loved one struggle with addiction issues. Play it loud, and then play it again a little louder yet.

Till You Return, the new album from Teenage Halloween, is fittingly scheduled for release in October.
