There has clearly been no diminishment in the capacity for Big Thief to release one sterling song after another, all done with a rapid pace basically unseen the heyday of nineteen-eighties Britpop bands that were under the thumb of a demanding public and even more demanding record labels. There’s no evidence of pressure on Big Thief, though. Their latest track, “Born for Loving You,” has a comfy ease about it. It’s one of the fuller, springier offerings from the band, Adrianne Lenker trilling warm, heartfelt lyrics and the band grooves along with her. Its charm overflows.

A 7-inch single featuring “Vampire Empire” and “Born for Loving You” is scheduled for release in October.
