“TWENTYSOMETHING,” the new single from Los Angeles act talker, is a breezy blast about young adult misery. The band is the creative outlet of Celeste Tauchar, and she blazes through this headlong track that offers a litany of very modern woes (“Just turned twenty-six, and/ I lost my insurance/ And my therapist is too expensive”) set to a juicy tune with some influences of vintage pop-punk. Like all the best songs in this mode, the mounting disappointments are expressed so fiercely and exuberantly that it becomes cathartic and freeing. Somehow, even the opening click-click-click-click of the drumsticks comes across as raucously alive. Human evolved to have a top of the lungs to sing from because there are songs like this one that demand full-volume accompaniment.
