This Week’s Model — Wussy, “Inhaler”

It has been a rough fucking week, let me tell you. I found some solace in “Inhaler,” the new single from the Cincinnati band Wussy. I get it from the crunchy, full, noisy-but-tuneful wash of the music, like Yo La Tengo or the Mekons when they’re in the mood to turn the amps up.

Then there are the lyrics, which hit a little different to me today than they might have a week ago:

So I remember
The kindness of strangers
Back at the station
She gave me her inhaler
The light surrounds us
Til we’re irradiated
I miss the sound, so I
I turn the radio on

The new Wussy album, Cincinnati Ohio, is scheduled for release later this month.
