This Week’s Model — Indigo De Souza, “Be Like the Water”

A water metaphor has a heavier impact when delivered by Indigo De Souza these days. A resident of Asheville, North Carolina, De Souza was one of many who saw her home ravaged by the devastating floods brought to the area by Hurricane Helene last fall. When De Souza delivers a song titled “Be Like the Water,” know with certainty that she has firsthand awareness of just what water is like.

In this case, De Souza looks at water and sees freedom. I’ll leave the explanation to her:

Be like the water is about being brave and protecting your energy. It’s about listening to your inner self and respecting your gut instinct. My favorite lyric in the song is “you can leave if you want to, and you don’t have to say why”. Whether it’s leaving the room, leaving the conversation, or leaving a toxic relationship, you have the power to make a change and life is too precious to waste your spirit.

Precipice, the new album from Indigo De Souza, is scheduled for release later in July.
