The latest single from Twen is splendidly odd, shrewdly tight pop-rock song. It’s the sort of thing Charly Bliss might come up with if they were more in touch with their weird side. Frontwoman Jane Fitzsimmons chimes out lyrics that take swipes at the miseries of living in a society that’s trending towards oppression (“There’s a will there’s a way/ But it’s all up to the state”) while Ian Jones peppers the churning melody with squally little guitar riffs. It’s feisty and fine and gets the job done in under two and a half minutes.
Fate Euphoric, the new album from Twen, is scheduled for release in November.
