“Rubik’s Cube,” the new single from the London-based band 1000 Rabbits, is splendidly odd. With its layers of abrasive tones and off-kilter rhythms that perplexingly congeal into an enticing groove, it sounds like Björk going through a John Zorn phase. That might make it seem like the track is difficult to get into. It’s not. It has an openness and approachability. It sounds like musical invention occurring in real time.
