Beers I Have Known: 3 Sheeps Hello, My Name is Joe

This series of posts is dedicated to the many, many six packs, pony kegs and pints that have sauntered into my life at one point or another.

3 sheeps

I have been vociferous in my praise and appreciation for the tremendous craft brewery scene in the city I currently call home. It’s robust enough that I can sometimes lose sight of the fact that similar bounties are being brewed up all over the place, including my native state, which has its own storied history with beer, after all. Luckily, I’ve had regular trips to my dairyland homeland every spring and a batch of great, trusted friends who have fine taste in beer themselves, stocking our weekend washtubs full of splendid beverages. Since the event that calls me home is a marathon of sleeplessness, coffee beers are always well represented. One of my favorite discoveries hailed from a brewery in Sheboygan. Hello, My Name is Joe is listed as an imperial black wheat coffee ale. That makes it a little lighter and a little crisper than the porters and stouts that are usually associated with coffee beers. What I know for certain is that it is delicious. It was one of the few beers I made a point to stock up on before heading back south. And they correctly incorporate a comma into the name of the beer. That counts for something, too.
