Beers I Have Known — Smithwick’s Irish Ale

This series of posts is dedicated to the many, many six packs, pony kegs and pints that have sauntered into my life at one point or another.

As noted previously, I spent some time roaming these past couple weeks. There are tales to tell and tremendous experiences embedded in my heart and mind from those long days and nights on the isle that is said to be of an emerald hue. For the most part, most of those memories won’t be transmogrified into words in this space. I will note that I made a few exceptions to the standard order of Guinnesses alternated with whiskey pours, including one weary evening when we capped long, lovely hours of exploration by settling into the pub connected to our lodgings and I deviated to ask for a pint of Smithwick’s Irish Ale. Like everything else during the span that was long and yet too short, it was grand.
