Blessed be, have I ever missed Wet Leg. The self-titled debut from the Isle of Wight band was hands down my favorite album of 2022, and it held on a household mainstay, the perfect disc to slide over the turntable’s spindle when a blast of joy is needed. So it’s no surprise that the introductory blare from their just-announced sophomore full-length sets me aflutter.

The track in question, “catch these fists,” might be a little tougher and noisier than the gems strewn across the band’s debut, but it’s still clearly the product of Rhian Teasdale, Hester Chambers, and their assembled crew. It’s catchy, crafty, and jagged in all the right ways. It demands to be turned up loud.

The new album from Wet Leg, moisturizer, is scheduled for release in June.
