Li Yuan writes about the value of Voice of America by citing personal experience as a resident of China who found escape from her country’s propaganda by listening to broadcasts that were able to transcend otherwise fortified borders. This blithe destruction of vital government services and initiatives is the direct result of giving unchecked authority to dim-witted, empathy-free individuals who have lived their privileged lives utterly free from grappling with the consequences of their damaging actions.
