This Week’s Model — King Tuff, “Invisible Ink”

Kyle Thomas went home to Vermont make some music under his regular guise of King Tuff, and the new single “Invisible Ink” sure sounds like a happy ramble with old pals. Built on a loping beat and a bright, loose guitar riff, the song uses the trick writing solution of its title as a metaphor for all manner of things that fall away in life (“It ain’t easy, ain’t no breeze/ Sometimes the world will get you down on your knees/ Time goes by, in a blink/ Like it was written in invisible ink”). It sounds like the kind of easy, crafty tune that George Harrison might have come up with during his time with the Traveling Wilburys. That’s a very satisfying creative place to be.

MOO, the new album from King Tuff, is scheduled for release in late March.
