Kiwi Jr. recently released the album Blowin’ Up. It was their fourth studio album overall but first for K Records, which feels like the label they should have been on all along. I mean, just listen to the new single “Something Wicked,” which was recorded as part of the sessions for Blowin’ Up and didn’t make the album’s track list. It’s airy, sunny, sweetluy melancholy, vibrantly clever, and catchy as can be. That’s pure K Records stuff.

Anyway, how can I be expected to resist a song with lyrics such as “There were plans that I’d forgot/ Sleep walking down to the record shop.” Maybe more pertinently, why would I, or anyone, want to resist it?

“Something Wicked,” and loads of other Kiwi Jr. music, is available at their Bandcamp page.
