In 1957, General Electric pitched their line of radios by noting that they made perfect companions for kids heading off to college. As someone who spent more time in the campus radio station that anywhere else during my time as an underground, I heartily agree with the sentiment that listening is a super after-class activity.
I’m going to use this old slice of selling to make a pitch of my own. I’m on the air at my college radio alma mater, WWSP-90FM, this coming weekend. On Sunday, June 12th, from 6PM to 9PM, CDT, I’m hosting the program Then and Now, once again reviving a bygone program that still exerts a mighty influence on my little corner of the digital world. Anyone who wants to can listen online.
