This series of posts is dedicated to the many, many six packs, pony kegs and pints that have sauntered into my life at one point or another.
Seven years ago this time, I knew I was moving back top my home state and the city where I was born. After more than fifteen years living in decidedly different parts of the U.S. of A., it was a strange adjustment period. I did have the benefit, though, of my partner-in-all-things making the geographic transition ahead or me to metaphorically blaze the trail, and that situation gave me a handy excuse to make an advance visit. An important scouting mission, I’m sure you’ll understand, involved becoming acquainting with the new-to-me purveyors of beauteous brews. In that task, the first beer that really left me wowed came from One Barrel Brewing, which was only about three years old at the time.
I know that One Barrel Brewing was about three years old at that point for a simple reason: I just stocked the fridge with several cans of their recently released anniversary offering, 10 Year Beer Hazy IPA, and I am just good enough at math. I’m pleased to report that the newer libation makes me just as happy as the one I previously commemorated here in my little corner of the digital world. I still miss many of the beers that I could easily access while living in my previous residence. The dandy 10 Year Beer is a fresh reminder that things are going very nicely indeed here, too.
