This series of posts is dedicated to the many, many six packs, pony kegs and pints that have sauntered into my life at one point or another.

On a trek across the U.S. not so long ago, we made a couple strategically chosen stops, including one to refuel — in a multitude of ways — in Cleveland, Ohio. While there, I got to sample many of the wares of Boss Dog Brewing Company, and when it came time to determine exactly which offering would be taken home to stock the beer bridge, my abiding affection for baseball, my helplessly for semi-obscure movie references, and my predilection for peppers converged. Jobu is a first-rate hazy, juicy IPA with a delicate, delicious touch of serrano peppers (or, according to the menu’s deliberate misprints, cerrano peppers). Few souvenirs have been so prized.
For this Opening Day, may the fear be taken from all your bats.
