The new single from Meat Wave is exactly what I want, and indeed expect, rock music from Chicago to sound like. “10k” moves with a steady intensity and an obvious, inherent power, like an el train coming at full speed. The track is lean and tight, made to set shot glasses rattling on the bar of whatever club the band plays it at. So pour the libation of your choice into one of those sturdy little vessels and throw it back as the song kicks in. All will be right with the rock ‘n’ roll world.
